- In this letter, written in pencil on a large sheet of sketching paper, John Banting writes that he has heard from 'Derek' [?Kahn] that Spender's work 'has become like mine'. Banting reflects on the positive and negative aspects of this, and proceeds to offer lengthy reflections and advice on subjects, materials and methods that Spender could employ in his own work, from 'Scribble a lot', to more elaborate strategies for executing murals.
