Zoologist and tv presenter Desmond Morris achieved worldwide fame in 1967 with his book The Naked Ape, exploring human behaviour. He is also known as a surrealist painter and exhibited alongside Joan ²Ñ¾±°ùó. He tells TateShots about the time he took ²Ñ¾±°ùó on a tour of London Zoo, and of ²Ñ¾±°ùó's fascination for Congo the painting chimpanzee.
A major retrospective of Joan ²Ñ¾±°ùó was held at É«¿Ø´«Ã½ in 2011.
